This eLearning course was developed in partnership with subject matter experts from Two Two One Mental Health Charity. Drawing on qualifications in social work and years of frontline experience in crisis response, the content is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed practice to support real-world application.


This course builds confidence and provides practical tools to support people experiencing distress, while also emphasising the importance of self-care. Participants will learn how to recognise signs of distress, create safety and emotional regulation, and provide psychological first aid in crisis situations such as homelessness, natural disasters, or sudden loss. The course also equips learners with strategies to maintain their own wellbeing, ensuring they can support others effectively and sustainably.


COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify signs of distress
  • Support others in crisis situations (e.g. homeless, floods, fires, sudden death)
  • Create safety and emotional regulation
  • Provide psychological first aid
  • Look after your own wellbeing when supporting others
