Social housing providers have a moral obligation, a corporate social responsibility towards our tenants. Social Housing isn’t a tenure of choice. Our tenants can’t simply find somewhere else to live. We have a duty to support our tenants to sustain their tenancies.

Merely escalating a tenant through an arrears recovery process without attempting to help them resolve their financial difficulties, puts them on a downward escalator towards homelessness.

It’s what you do whilst your escalating through and outside the arrears recovery process that makes a difference. Being able to have money conversations is an essential element in the prevention and recovery of rent debt.
